Cappadocia

Cappadocia is a historical and natural wonder region located in the center of Central Anatolia, in the triangle of Nevşehir, Ürgüp and Avanos. It is home to fairy chimneys formed by the erosion of volcanic ashes millions of years ago, rock churches that are thousands of years old, and huge underground cities such as Derinkuyu and Kaymaklı, which were used as shelter by early Christians.

Cappadocia, which has hosted many civilizations from the Hittites to the Byzantines for thousands of years, was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1985. In the region where man-made architecture and nature exist in unique harmony; Göreme Open Air Museum, Uçhisar Castle, Ihlara Valley, Paşabağları, Güvercinlik Valley and hot air balloon tours are just a few of the numerous prominent attractions.
